The English Language test requirements have been updated to remove the required scores for each tests from the AIMS Guidelines and Application Forms as of 12 March 2026 - refer to the Department of Home Affairs website for Proficient English for this information. Please refer to the relevant AIMS Guidelines for the English Language Tests accepted by AIMS.

The English language requirements have been updated by AIMS effective 12 March 2026 to align with the Department of Home Affairs requirements for Proficient English.

Please note that AIMS does not accept English test results that include a One Skill Retake component. All four components of the English test — Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking — must be completed in one sitting, and the required scores must be achieved within the same test result

If you have already submitted an application, this change may or may not affect you depending on the date you sat your English Language test, AIMS will complete the processing of your application based on the information you have already provided.
You will not be required to submit a new English language test if you have already had your skills assessed and have been invited to sit the AIMS Professional examination (you must apply to sit the examination within the 3 year window of your skills assessment results letter).
